Xerjoff Naxos vs Le Labo AnOther 13 - Perfume Battle Round 106

Am Von AlHimyan / 0 Kommentare

Round 106 of the AlHimyan Perfume Battle sets the warmest perfume in the tournament against one of the quietest. Xerjoff XJ 1861 Naxos defends its title with fifty-one straight wins, a run no other perfume here has come near. Its challenger is Le Labo AnOther 13, the 2010 Eau de Parfum by Nathalie Lorson that turned a clean, skin-like musk into a cult signature.

A note on the scorecard: Fragrantica could not be reached today, so this round uses only real Parfumo community numbers, read on 3 November 2026. The Fragrantica and Parfumo weights are combined into a single scent weight, and nothing has been estimated or invented.

Xerjoff XJ 1861 Naxos: the champion

Xerjoff XJ 1861 Naxos Unisex Eau de Parfum 100ml bottle at AlHimyan

Naxos belongs to the Xerjoff 1861 collection, a tribute to Sicily. Parfumo lists its top notes as lavender, bergamot, lemon and Omani frankincense. The heart brings honey, cinnamon, jasmine sambac and soft cashmere wood, and the base of tobacco, tonka bean and vanilla stays warm and creamy without turning heavy. More than fourteen thousand Parfumo members have rated it, and it still holds number one on the site's unisex list.

Community scores: Parfumo scent 8.9/10 from 14,193 ratings, longevity 8.8, sillage 8.5, bottle 9.1, value for money 7.6.

Le Labo AnOther 13: the challenger

Le Labo AnOther 13 Unisex Eau de Parfum 100ml bottle at AlHimyan

AnOther 13 began in 2010 as a collaboration between Le Labo and AnOther Magazine. Nathalie Lorson built it around modern musks rather than flowers or spices. Parfumo lists pear, jasmine and moss with ambrette seed absolute, Ambroxan and Helvetolide, two of the clean synthetic musks that give the scent its smooth, almost mineral glow. It does not announce itself across a room; it sits close to the skin and smells like warm, freshly washed skin with a hint of fruit and green moss.

Community scores: Parfumo scent 7.5/10 from 1,235 ratings, longevity 7.5, sillage 6.7, bottle 7.4, value for money 5.6.

Notes side by side

  Naxos AnOther 13
Opening Lavender, bergamot, lemon, Omani frankincense Pear, jasmine
Heart Honey, cinnamon, cashmere wood, jasmine sambac Ambrette seed, moss
Base Tobacco, tonka bean, vanilla Ambroxan, Helvetolide musk
Main character Sweet, tobacco, honey, vanilla, oriental Musky, woody, fresh, soft floral, earthy

Parfumo shows AnOther 13 as a flat list rather than a top, heart and base pyramid, so the table groups its notes by how they usually unfold on skin. Both perfumes share jasmine, but that is where the similarity ends. Naxos is built to be noticed: honey and tobacco project and leave a sweet trail. AnOther 13 is built to be discovered by someone standing close, a musk that changes with each person's skin.

The scorecard

Category (weight) Naxos AnOther 13
Scent rating, Parfumo (60%) 8.9 7.5
Longevity (15%) 8.8 7.5
Sillage (10%) 8.5 6.7
Value for money (15%) 7.6 5.6
Final score 8.65 7.14

The verdict: Naxos wins again

Naxos takes Round 106 with 8.65 against 7.14, a margin of 1.51 points, and extends its streak to fifty-two straight wins. It leads in every category. The widest gap is value for money, where Parfumo members score Naxos 7.6 and AnOther 13 only 5.6, followed by sillage, where Naxos projects far more.

That does not make AnOther 13 a weak perfume. It is a different idea. Its quiet projection is exactly why people love it: it works in meetings, in clinics, in tight lifts and at family gatherings where a loud perfume would feel out of place. If you want a scent that only the people closest to you notice, AnOther 13 is a strong choice. If you want a perfume that people comment on, Naxos remains the one to beat.

How to wear them in the UAE

The cooler months are the best season for Naxos. Its honey and tobacco can feel heavy in midday summer heat, so in warmer months keep it for air-conditioned evenings and apply two or three sprays to the chest and neck. AnOther 13 is the opposite: it is comfortable all year, including hot days, because it is light and clean. Musk scents can fade from your own nose quickly even while others still smell them, so resist the urge to over-spray; three or four sprays on skin and one on clothing is plenty.

Layering tip: AnOther 13 is one of the easiest perfumes to layer. Wear it under a rose or oud oil and it softens the oil into a clean, modern trail. Naxos sits well over a plain amber oil for a richer evening scent.
