Jean-Paul Guerlain composed Vetiver for Guerlain in 1959. Bergamot, lemon, coriander, mandarin and neroli open the fragrance, leading into a green, earthy heart of vetiver and cedar. The drydown turns warm and slightly sweet with tobacco, walnut, pepper and tonka bean.

It is a benchmark of the vetiver genre, well suited to daytime wear and warmer climates, where its green, earthy character feels clean rather than heavy.
