Where to Buy Perfume in Dubai: What Reddit Actually Recommends

في بواسطة AlHimyan / 0 تعليقات

Search "where to buy perfume in Dubai reddit" and you get a decade of threads saying slightly different things. We read through the main ones in r/dubai, r/UAE and r/abudhabi and pulled out what people actually agree on.

The four places people name

1. Deira and the perfume souq

By far the most-recommended answer for price. Murshid Bazaar, Sabkha and the area around the Gold Souq come up again and again, along with the advice to walk around and compare before buying. Regulars also warn that parking there is miserable and suggest taking the metro or bus.

The catch Redditors raise just as often: you have no visibility on where a bottle came from, how it was stored, or its batch date. Great prices, uneven provenance.

2. The malls

Consistently described as the most expensive option, with more than one commenter calling mall pricing a tourist trap. You get certainty and you pay for it. A frequently cited example was a designer bottle at roughly double the online price.

3. Airport duty free

The choice of people who prioritise certainty over price. Limited range, mid-to-high pricing, but nobody argues about whether it is real.

4. Online UAE stores

This is where most of the argument happens, and it deserves its own section below.

The mistake almost everyone makes first

The single most useful thing in these threads is a distinction people keep having to re-explain: a clone is not a fake.

  • A fake is a bottle pretending to be a brand it is not. That is counterfeit, and it is the thing to avoid.
  • A clone (or "inspired by") is an honest fragrance from a real house such as Lattafa, Armaf, Afnan or Khadlaj that is built to smell close to something expensive. It is sold under its own name. It is completely legal and often very good.

Most "I got scammed" posts turn out to be one of two things: someone bought a clone without realising, or someone bought from an Instagram page with no returns. Knowing the difference solves most of it. We wrote a longer breakdown in fake vs clone perfume.

Practical advice that came up repeatedly

  • Smell before you commit when you can. Deira is good for this.
  • Ask for a discount. Several people reported that souq and independent shops expect it, and some online stores will send a code if you message them.
  • Check the return policy before paying, not after.
  • Buy from somewhere you can actually contact if something is wrong.

How AlHimyan handles the trust question

We are almost always cheaper than the malls, and people ask us the same thing Reddit asks: why? The honest answer is that there is no middleman between us and the source, and no mall rent priced into the bottle. Same sealed bottles, closer to the source price.

  • 7-day return on unused, factory-sealed items (UAE orders)
  • Free UAE shipping over AED 299, delivery in 2-4 business days
  • Cash on delivery, so you can pay once the bottle is in your hands
  • Tabby and Tamara for payment in instalments
  • Real WhatsApp support from a registered UAE business

Where this came from

This page summarises public discussion in r/dubai, r/UAE, r/abudhabi and r/fragrance. We are a UAE perfume retailer, so read our recommendation of our own store with that in mind. Everything else here is what shoppers themselves reported. AlHimyan is not affiliated with Reddit.
