Released in 2011 by perfumer Nathalie Feisthauer. Dedicated to Puccini's Madame Butterfly — Cio-Cio-San's final act of sacrifice. A spicy-woody fragrance opening on pink pepper and black pepper, settling through geranium, nutmeg and elemi resin, drying down to frankincense, patchouli, cedarwood, vetiver, tonka and musk. Beast-mode performance, opera-house drama, but the pepper is so loud it splits the room in half. AED 1,430 / 100ml at AlHimyan.

Around the 60-minute mark, the frankincense ignites — that pure Omani frankincense Amouage sources directly — and the entire composition softens into a smoky, resinous, almost ceremonial drydown. Sillage in the first two hours is enormous. Longevity routinely clocks 10–14 hours on skin, with a few user reviews on Fragrantica reporting it still detectable the next morning.

But the ratings tell the harder story. 3.99/5 on Fragrantica with only 1,943 votes — and Amouage's own community calls it "one of the safest Amouages" and "one of their most underrated releases."
